June kicked my ass if I’m being frank. A lot of traveling (in my bicoastal era, happy pride), my job is so wonderful! right now (I want to die), and I’m forcing myself to live within my means. Anyway, we’ve made it through half of the year so I think it’s time to do a review of what’s in and what’s out for the rest of 2023.
In:
Going to the movies: The movies are back in a big way. The Little Mermaid, despite Daveed Diggs’ absolutely atrocious Jamaican accent, was really fun to watch. I will be seated for both Barbie and Oppenheimer as is my God-given right and I’ll probably go see the new Mission Impossible, too. Go see a movie!
Jean shorts: self-explanatory
Bebe Rexha: see here
Bad behavior at concerts: see here
Looking at the air quality index (AQI) on the iPhone weather app: The orange air was honestly not a problem for me in Memphis, but I did enjoy looking at the map to compare AQI numbers.
Girls who went to NYU to study acting: If you haven’t watched The Bear, Shiva Baby, Abbott Elementary, or Bodies, Bodies, Bodies you’ve been missing out on the very talented and very funny Ayo Edebiri and Rachel Sennott.
World-Class Sinner / I’m a Freak: The only good thing to come out of The Idol, besides the horrible screencaps of The Weeknd saying the most horribly graphic dialogue in a weird deadpan, is this song. I know it’s a parody of what people think pop music sounds like, but if this ever comes on in public I’m screaming along.
Sprinter Vans
Out:
Bridal Events: (from the only person keeping me at my job): “They’re so overdone - they legitimately ALLLLL look the exact same and its cringe”
Vegetarians: I feel like vegetarianism is falling off. Pecestarinsim is still kind of in and sexy.
The Weeknd the actor, not the singer: This man cannot act. He should stick to the rivers and lakes that he’s used to.
Supreme Court: I’m not gonna get into specifics, but Clarence Thomas…..your time is coming.
The year’s going by so quickly, but I’m excited to see how the rest of the year goes. Send me things that are in or out for you this year!

Albania stays giving us her best and brightest
Out: Taylor Swift (played I’m only me when I’m with you at a show that wasn’t mine)
